Compression

Our compression equipment falls into two categories, set (constant strain) and stress relaxation. Compression stress relaxation is being increasingly adopted by aerospace, automotive and construction industries to characterise elastomeric seal.

	Constant Strain C3/C4 Two or more circular steel plates 12.5mm thick and 126mm diameter are clamped together with three bolts. Spacers of the appropriate thickness in the form of rings around each bolt are placed between the plates to control the thickness of test pieces whilst compressed.
	Compression Stress Relaxometer The Compression Stress Relaxometer measures the ability of an elastomer to seal efficiently when held in compression between two rigid faces, for example, rings in pipe joints.
